On January 30, 2013, the Grizzlies traded Gay to the Toronto Raptors. Consequently, Gay was named to the 2007 NBA All-Rookie First Team. In his rookie year, that is the 2006-07 season, Gay played 78 games, averaging 10.8 points, 1.3 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. Gay played for the Memphis Grizzlies from 2006 to 2013.
